POLICE are hunting for two men who used a stolen vehicle to ram-raid a Fairy Meadow service station at the weekend.

The pair then led police on a high-speed pursuit along the F6, before evading highway patrol officers near Waterfall.

The men used a stolen yellow Ford utility to ram-raid the Prime Service Station at Fairy Meadow about 2.30am yesterday, escaping with cigarettes.

The service station was closed at the time.

A taxi driver alerted police to the robbery and followed the stolen vehicle before highway patrol officers began pursuing the vehicle near Mt Ousley Rd.

The pursuit reached high speeds along the freeway, however the chase was called off in suburban Waterfall.

The vehicle was recovered in Macquarie Fields yesterday.

The men are aged between 20 and 30, have dark hair and were wearing dark clothing.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact Wollongong Police on 4226 7899 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 33 000.
